I'm Annabelle, and my life has always been a rollercoaster ride, filled with unexpected turns and heart - wrenching moments. It all started with a sham marriage to Alistair Mu, a man who seemed to be at the pinnacle of the business world in our city. In London, I found myself. I threw myself into my work, honed my skills, and eventually achieved recognition in my field. Winning awards and making a name for myself was a dream come true. It was a far cry from the miserable life I had in my marriage. I had become independent, confident, and most importantly, happy.

Two years passed in a blur, and I decided it was time to return to my home country. I had heard about Yun Rui Corporation, a rising star in the business world. Their innovative ideas and rapid growth had caught my attention, and I saw it as an exciting opportunity to contribute my skills. Little did I know that this decision would lead me straight back into the path of the man I had tried so hard to forget.

The first day at Yun Rui was filled with hope and anticipation. I was greeted warmly by my colleagues, and the office environment seemed vibrant and promising. I was looking forward to starting this new chapter of my life. But then, fate decided to play a cruel joke on me.

I was called to the president's office to report for duty. As I stood outside the door, I heard voices coming from inside - a woman's seductive voice and a man's deep, husky one. I hesitated, not wanting to interrupt what seemed like a private moment. But when I heard the man's voice more clearly, my blood ran cold. It was Alistair. I couldn't believe my ears. How could he be the president of Yun Rui? I was frozen in shock, my mind racing with a million thoughts.

Before I could make a hasty retreat, the door opened, and I was face - to - face with Alistair and the woman, Yoi. Alistair looked at me with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. He didn't seem to recognize me at first, and I was both relieved and terrified. I tried to maintain my composure as I introduced myself as the new designer. But being in the same room with him again brought back all the painful memories.

Alistair's attitude towards me was as cold as ever. He questioned my presence, insinuating that I was eavesdropping. I was offended and fought back, standing up for myself. I couldn't let him treat me like that again. But as we argued, I could feel his eyes on me, studying me intently. It was as if he was trying to figure out why I seemed so familiar to him.

And then, he cornered me. His actions were aggressive and provocative, just like the old days. I was trapped, my heart pounding in my chest. I was filled with a mix of fear and anger. I was afraid that he might recognize me, and the thought of going through that humiliation again was unbearable. But I also refused to be intimidated by him.

As he mumbled my name, asking if he knew me, I was at a loss for words. I didn't know what to say. If he found out that I was his ex - wife, I didn't know what kind of chaos would ensue. I had built a new life for myself, and I didn't want him to ruin it.

Now, I'm caught in a web of uncertainty. I have to work at Yun Rui, and I have to face Alistair every day. I don't know how long I can keep up this charade. Will he eventually figure out who I am? And if he does, what will happen? Will he use this knowledge against me? Or will this unexpected reunion lead to a series of events that neither of us could have ever predicted? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure - my life is about to get a whole lot more complicated.
